I've spent the last 15 years working in IT and telecoms, mostly in managed service businesses helping companies of all sizes work out what technology can actually do for them and more importantly, what it can't. I've dealt with everything from boardroom infrastructure decisions to helping someone figure out why their printer has stopped talking to their laptop.
Outside of work, I'm the kind of person who builds home servers for fun, tweaks network setups on weekends, and genuinely enjoys working out why something isn't behaving the way it should. That probably says everything you need to know about me.
And like every person who works in IT, I've spent years being the go-to for family and friends. Printers, Wi-Fi, slow laptops, setting up parental controls, figuring out whether an email is a scam you name it, I've been asked it. At some point it made sense to just make that official.
Why I started Qosmos
About four years ago I moved from London to the New Forest with my wife (who grew up here) and our two young kids. It's a brilliant place to bring up a family, and it's become home pretty quickly.
What I noticed when I got here is that good, reliable, local IT help is genuinely hard to find. The options tend to be big impersonal helplines, expensive call-out charges, or dropping your device off somewhere and hoping for the best.
Qosmos is my answer to that. Remote support means I can connect to your device and sort the problem in the same time it would take you to drive to a shop, and you don't have to leave the house. No jargon, no upselling, no making you feel like you've asked a stupid question. Just a straight conversation and a working computer at the end of it.
